On the 3 march 2012, formally established the ASEAN Energy Regulators’ Network (AERN)
- among the ASEAN energy regulators in support of the vision of the ASEAN Economic Community 2015. ERC Thailand as AERN Chair later proposed AERN to ASEAN ministers which endorsed by the Thirtieth ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (30th AMEM/once a year since 2003) and it is official establishment of "AERN". To foster the ASEAN Energy Connectivity as the Joint Ministerial Statement of the 29th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM).
